New Year’s Eve

2011 was one hell of a year. Lots highs and to no surprise it was also peppered in with some to lows… but like life has a way of doing, it all just works out.

I’m still seeing how the fruits and pits of 2009 are impacting my today. I’m still trying to figure stuff out no matter how much I pretend that it’s all sorted. And the beauty of tonight is that it reminds me that it’s okay to not have it figured out and that there’s still so much more hopefully in store.

So as the second hand of the clock circles back at 11:59 and chases after 2012 tonight, I’ll say thank you to every year that has passed with everything and everyone it has brought into and out of my life.

Here’s to all of us having an awesome 2012.

New Year’s Eve / The Movie

My sister dragged me and my brother-in-law out to watch New Year’s Eve today.

I’ll start by saying it’s no Love Actually. Yeah, that’s right, I F’in love that movie and all these other massive star micro vignette films that have come out since can’t really hold a candle.

So with really low expectations, I actually walked away pretty surprised and pretty high and hopeful for the new year.

It was slow to start, but picked up in a big way and it nearly had me and even my brother in law almost emotionally losing our shit by the end of the film. I’m a fan of the rom com, so boom, it did its job.
